Inka Homanen
Inka comes from Oulu, a small city in Northern Finland. She moved to Canada in 2016, Germany in 2017, and eventually to the Netherlands in 2018. She speaks native Finnish, fluent English, and advanced Dutch.
In the Netherlands, Inka completed the International Bachelor of Psychology at Leiden University. She fell in love with the vibrant international life in Leiden and decided to stay there for her master’s degree. She has since completed two master’s programs: MSc in Child and Adolescent Psychology & research MSc in Developmental Psychology. With this knowledge, Inka hopes to bridge the gap between research and therapy.
In addition to working as a psychologist, Inka has experience working with kids and teens in different settings, such as daycares, schools, and summer camps. She has worked with TCKs, asylum seeker kids, as well as kids with disabilities. Inka enjoys working in a solution-focused way, utilizing the strengths of the whole family. However, she finds it important to integrate methods from different therapeutic approaches (such as ACT, CBT, SFT, Art Therapy, and Play Therapy) to fit the unique needs of each kid, teen, and family. Empathy, curiosity, and creativity are the cornerstones of Inka’s work.
