Adam Németh
Originally from Hungary, Adam has had the chance to live, study and work in the US and in Chile as well, before settling down in Amsterdam. He received his Master’s degree in Psychology in 2013 at the Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest and has since successfully completed a post-graduate training program in counseling psychology and crisis counseling.
Throughout his career, he has worked in various settings with kids and young people. One of his most formative experiences was working for a child and adolescent crisis hotline for several years, laying down the foundations of his ability to build rapport with young people regardless of their background. Before deciding to relocate to the Netherlands, he has worked for over 8 years at an outpatient clinic specialized in supporting children and teenagers on the autism spectrum, giving him a deeper understanding of the unique strengths and challenges of neurodivergent youth and their families. Besides being a freelance psychologist in the present moment, he is actively involved in training other psychologists in affirmative practices when working with gender and sexual minorities and neurodivergence.
Adam uses techniques from ACT, CBT, Compassion Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy, trying to be mindful of adapting these to individuals’ diverse needs and identities. Cultural humility is a cornerstone of his practice. He can provide support in English and Hungarian.
